Today, we sit down with Sinandile, a driven entrepreneur building her path through beauty and service.

From S’NA Nail Bar to S’NA Cleaning Services, her journey is rooted in passion and hard work.

Can you start by introducing yourself and telling us where you’re from?

My name is Ovayo Sinandile, and I am a young entrepreneur from Mdantsane in East London. I am the founder of S’NA Nail Bar and S’NA Cleaning Services, and I am also a published author. I have always been passionate about building something of my own and creating opportunities through business.

My journey as an entrepreneur started with small steps and a strong vision. Over time, I have been able to turn my ideas into real businesses that serve people in my community while also helping me grow personally and professionally.

What inspired you to start working as a nail technician and stylist?

My inspiration came from my love for beauty and creativity. I’ve always enjoyed anything related to beauty, and nails became a way for me to express creativity while also making people feel good about themselves.

Seeing how something as simple as a beautiful manicure can boost someone’s confidence really motivated me. Over time, I decided to turn that passion into a profession and build a business around it.

When did you officially start S’NA Nail Bar, and what motivated you to start your own brand?

I started S’NA Nail Bar after working hard to save money so that I could open my own nail business. My motivation was the desire to be independent and create a brand that represents my creativity, passion, and dedication to my clients.

Starting my own brand was important to me because I wanted something that truly reflects my journey and my work. S’NA Nail Bar represents not just nail services, but also my determination to build something meaningful from my passion.

Your business also offers cleaning services. How did S’NA Cleaning Services come about?

S’NA Cleaning Services started around March 2024 as a way for me to earn extra income while I was saving money to start S’NA Nail Bar. At the time, I wanted to make sure I had enough resources to invest in my nail business, so I created the cleaning service as another stream of income.

As the business grew, my partner Luyolo joined me last year and now manages the operations. Together, we offer different types of cleaning services and continue to grow the business while supporting our bigger vision.

How do you balance running both a beauty service and a cleaning service business?

Balancing two businesses requires planning, discipline, and teamwork. I mainly focus on running S’NA Nail Bar and serving my nail clients, while my partner Luyolo manages most of the operations for S’NA Cleaning Services.

Working as a team helps us keep both businesses running smoothly. We support each other and make sure that each business receives the attention it needs to grow.

What do you enjoy the most about working as a nail technician?

What I enjoy the most is seeing how happy clients feel after their nails are done. A beautiful set of nails can really boost someone’s confidence and make them feel good about themselves.

I also enjoy the creativity that comes with nail work. Every client is different, and that allows me to create unique styles and designs while expressing my creativity.

What are some of the services clients can expect when they visit S’NA Nail Bar?

At S’NA Nail Bar, clients can expect professional nail services, including gel, polygel, and rubber base applications for both manicures and pedicures. These services allow clients to choose the style and strength that works best for them.

I also offer simple, elegant nail designs, French styles, and customized looks depending on what the client wants. My goal is always to make sure every client leaves feeling confident, satisfied, and happy with their nails.

What makes your cleaning services stand out from others in East London and Mdantsane?

What makes S’NA Cleaning Services stand out is our commitment to quality and attention to detail. We focus on making sure every space we clean is left fresh, neat, and comfortable for the client.

We also believe in professionalism and reliability. Our goal is to provide a service that clients can trust and depend on whenever they need cleaning assistance.

As a young entrepreneur, what challenges have you faced while building your businesses?

One of the challenges I have faced is dealing with difficult clients, especially when someone books a specific service but expects more work than what they originally requested. Experiences like that have taught me the importance of clear communication and setting boundaries.

Another challenge has been starting businesses with limited resources. However, those challenges have helped me grow stronger and more determined to succeed.

Besides running your businesses, what are some of your hobbies or things you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, watching TV, and spending quiet time at home. Writing is also something that means a lot to me, which is why I’m proud to say that I am a published author.

These hobbies help me relax and also inspire creativity in both my personal life and my businesses.

Who or what motivates you to keep pushing and growing as a businesswoman?

My biggest motivation is the vision I have for my future and the life I want to build. I believe that success comes from staying focused and continuing to work hard even when things are not easy.

My partner, Luyolo, also motivates me because we support each other and share the same goal of building successful businesses together.

How do you usually relax or recharge after a long day of work?

After a long day, I usually like to spend time relaxing at home, watching something light, or reading a good book. Sometimes writing also helps me clear my mind and reflect.

Taking time to rest is important because running businesses requires energy and focus, so I always try to recharge so I can continue giving my best.

What advice would you give to young people who want to start their own businesses?

My advice is to start with what you have and not wait for everything to be perfect. Many successful businesses begin with small steps and grow over time.

Believe in your vision, stay consistent, and be patient with the process. Challenges will come, but they are part of the journey toward success.

What are your future plans for S’NA Nail Bar and S’NA Cleaning Services, and are there any other businesses we should expect?

My future plans are to continue growing S’NA Nail Bar by expanding services and possibly offering training in the future. For S’NA Cleaning Services, we plan to grow our client base and strengthen the business under Luyolo’s management.

I also have plans for other business ventures because I believe in building multiple streams of income. So people can definitely expect more projects and businesses from me in the future.
